Jesus goes in the center
Liz and Joe’s engagement party last night was a lot of fun. On the way there Erin realized she wasn’t wearing any deodorant, so after stopping in to say hi we made a quick trip to the store. Erin picked out a Hello Kitty (Liz is obsessed) birthday card and we did a little crafting at the register to turn it into an engagement card.
Back at the hall we took our seats for dinner. When Liz tried to move the giant bouquet of flowers from blocking her view, her mom rushed over remind her that “Jesus goes in the center!” I realized that the framed photo leaning up against the vase was not of Liz and Joe as I had assumed, but of Jesus, which Liz’s mom brought from home.
Liz, being obsessed with Hello Kitty, has a horror themed, Hello Kitty, half sleeve tattooed on her left arm…which her parents do not know about. She lives with them, she’s had it for a year and has managed to keep it a secret. I have a tattoo on the inside of my arm, Erin has her entire back tattooed, and Sunny has tattoos on her back, shoulder and thigh. All of us, except Sunny, spent the night wearing cardigans, so we are now called The Cardigan Crew. And being the bad-asses we are, we ran into the bathroom to take photos sans cardigans.
The engagement party was definitely a preview of the debauchery that will be Liz and Joe’s wedding. There was lots of drinking and we showed our ages by sucking helium out of half the balloons in the hall.
Erin and I ended the night with taco bell and then I stopped by 17th Street for a drink with Liz, Joe, Sunny and Ian, but didn’t stay long because my old-ladyness kicked in…and I wanted to get home to talk to B before he fell asleep.
